Pecan benefits and Pecan milk recipe below. Pecans are sweet, warming, and nutritious! They make an excellent healthy snack, can be used as a healthy pie crust instead of flour (no sugar needed as it’s naturally sweet), and are another great choice as a dairy milk replacement.
Benefits of pecans

- Pecans are especially nourishing for the nervous system.
- They are rich in age-defying antioxidants.
- Pecans are helpful in repairing damaged cells in cases of heart disease.
- They are high in healthy unsaturated fat, can lower bad cholesterol.
- They contain many vitamins including vitamin A, vitamin B-complex especially B-6, vitamin E, and folic acid.
- They are packed with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.
- They are great source of fiber
Soak pecans for about 6 hours before using them. If you have a dehydrator, you could dehydrate pecans for about 10 hours before carrying them around as a healthy snack. You could grind dehydrated pecans in a food processor, and use them as a pie crust.
Pecan milk recipe
Soak 1 cup of raw pecans for 6 hours or overnight, then add the following ingredients and blend it for two minutes.
- 3 cups water
- 2 Tbsp agave or 1 Tbsp of honey (adjust the amount as necessary)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- a pinch of nutmeg (optional)
